Over the past few weeks we have been busy training our latest volunteer recruits.

We hosted an induction evening for new events and fundraising volunteers which we had a fantastic turnout for.  Thank you so much to you all for joining us, there was a lot of stuff to cover but we whizzed through it and even had a lot of fun at the end with a team task of recreating famous scenes.  Check out the photos here and even video clip: https://youtu.be/flJYZroZGec

We then have a small team of family mentor volunteers who underwent a DBS check followed by 2 Saturdays of training going through safeguarding, health & safety procedures as well as the Steel Bones systems.  They all passed with flying colours and we are all very lucky to have such a brilliant team.  We have also recorded these sessions so we can train other family mentors across the country and as a couple could not join us due to operations and illness.  There really is no stopping us armed with these brilliant training resources – the team is ready to GO GO GO and just in time to support amputee families during these unprecedented weeks ahead. This is all thanks to these volunteers’ time, effort and the funding from the Lottery Development Grant to help us formalise all systems sow e can duplicate our model of support.

We shall be introducing you to each of the family mentors and our volunteers over the course of the following weeks and hope you enjoy meeting them.

A MASSIVE MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS.  STEEL BONES DOES NOT HAPPEN WITHOUT YOU.
