You may be aware that Steel Bones has enjoyed exponential growth in the last 3 years only thank you to the amazing amputee families who have created such a wonderful community. Trustees are now working with the Cranfield Trust to put in place robust resources to enable us to grow further. One important step working towards this is to put in a place a Voluntary Management Team to allow more hands to get to work and help more amputee families and focus on some more exciting projects which have had to be on the back burner for some time due to the overwhelming growth. The Trustees have appointed the following volunteers to help Founders, Emma and Leigh Joy-Staines push Steel Bones forward onto its next growth stage.

Paul Clark – Events Manager and Football Co–Ordinator
Colin Phelps – Family Liaison Manager and Community Fundraising Co-Ordinator
Billie Lawler – Human Resources Manager
Emma will continue to work on high level funding bids plus strategic development whilst Leigh will continue to focus on Communications and as Amputee Experience Director, he will ensure our exceptional standards of Amputee Family Support are maintained.

This Management Team will meet every fortnight and each member will Buddy up with our amputee families to ensure we are doing out utmost to support you. We shall all be in touch via email shortly to introduce ourselves. There is also a new phone system coming to Steel Bones, details of which will be announced asap but it will mean there will be a STEEL BONES PHONE LINE in place to help you with any queries, issues you are experiencing.

It has been an incredibly EXCITING and Kickstarting JANUARY for Steel Bones, we have been hard at work putting everything into place. This is only happening due to the important role our amputee families have played in growing this special community so THANK YOU to you all for playing such a huge role in helping us on our mission to unite the amputee community and support amputee families to overcome the trauma of amputation and achieve their goals.
