From Stephen Morley – We had another great functional fitness session with STEEL BONES tonight. As well as a good weights set and good Core work, we introduced some simple exercises that can increase your strength, confidence and balance when using your prosthesis. The ball-rolling exercise addresses standing posture and balance and will help you build confidence in your prosthesis–something that is fundamental in helping to walk uphill and on uneven ground.
Participants comment – It was a really great session tonight. The toughest part for me was trying to hold a plank position for 30 seconds i could really feel my stomach muscles working hard during this exercise, and I managed to repeat it 3 times, something which I struggled with last week, so I am very pleased with that result!
