Steel Bones love working with voluntary groups.  Volunteers are the lifeblood to the amputee community.  OPUS are a special organisation run by 2 phenomenal amputees, Sandra and jane,  They work tirelessly with the Hospital team at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore to create the brilliant BIG MEET Up plus lots of different activities and support amputees through their journey.  We wanted to support OPUS in continuing their work and instead of purchasing much needed ink and equipment to help them do their work they chose to spend the money on providing resources for children amputees to be assessed by Prosthetist and Orthotists.

OPUS YOU ARE AMAZING ! Thank you for all you do and for organising a really special presentation event.

Please read all about it on the OPUS website at: https://opusrnoh.org.uk/news/

And see their recent blogs below.

“Build A Bear” welcomed OPUS & Steel Bones

OPUS and Steel Bones were warmly welcomed by ‘Build A Bear’ in Milton Keynes and we left with 20 soft toys, some having been customised along with several sets of clothes and accessories. We then visited Smyth’s Toys and purchased items for the Paediatric fitting rooms.

Please join us on Tuesday 21st January at the Prosthetic Rehabilitation Centre for our presentation of resources to the Trust and  light refreshments. You will also be able to meet with all staff from both the Orthotic and Prosthetic Departments, representatives from Steeper, Build a Bear, Steel Bones and the Douglas Bader Foundation along with Rob Hurd, CEO of the Trust and Dominic Dodd, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
