Steel Bones AGM notes: Monday 18th November 2024. The Beeches, Isleham.

- Colin welcomed everyone in the room and online to the AGM & gave the annual report for April 2023 – March 2024 financial year.
- Adam Tilbrook proposed the adoption of the report.
Edward Bye seconded the adoption. - Adam Tilbrook gave the financial report for the year
April 2023 – March 2024. - Gary Hawksworth proposed the adoption of the report.
Leigh Joy-Staines seconded the adoption. - Emma Joy Staines & Gary Hawksworth gave a presentation on the charity’s 2025-2039 vision & value growth strategy.
Gary summarised the meeting held last week on how Steel Bones can grow and support more amputees and how new amputees contact Steel Bones.
Meeting attendees were also updated on the sub-groups of the charity being formed to allow ad-hoc items to be attended to without the need for a full meeting.
These sub-groups are

- Beneficiaries
- Internal Processes
- Improvement & Innovation
- HR
Mission was agreed as:
Helping all amputee families live life to the full.
Vision was discussed and almost confirmed as:
Collaborating with partners to support amputee families, across England and Wales, in crisis and celebration ensuring they have access to what they need to thrive.
Or shorter version:
Collaborating with partners to support amputee families across England and Wales, ensuring they thrive in both crisis and celebration.
Colin Phelps proposed the adoption of the report.
Lauren Mason-McKay seconded the adoption.
- Trustee Reinstatement.
All Trustees including Chair, Vice Chair & Treasurer stood down from their positions.
Colin, as outgoing chair gave thanks to Emma, Leigh and the wider team for their support over the past 6 years which has helped him become a stronger, more confident person. Colin was presented with a gift as small token of thanks for his commitment as Chair. All agreed to a formal vote of thanks.
Colin asked if there were any proposals for Chair, Gary Hawksworth said that he was interested and with no other applicants was voted in unanimously.
Leigh Joy-Staines proposed & Colin Phelps seconded the appointment.
Gary accepted the position of Chair and was welcomed.
Leigh Joy-Staines stepped down as Vice Chair and a formal vote of thanks was given to him. Gary asked if there were any interested parties for Vice Chair.
Nick Day & Adam Tilbrook were proposed, Nick declined due to limited experience with the board.
Adam accepted the nomination and was voted in.
Adam Tilbrook proposed Billie Lawler (in her absence) to be reinstated as Treasurer, Billie has not formally accepted but this will be formalised with the board at the next meeting and recorded accordingly.
The rest of the board were appointed from previous trustees re-standing and volunteers from the meeting. The newly appointed Chair stated there were additional commitments required in the coming weeks and months as we confirm and action the 2025 2030.
