A: No, all of our support and services are completely free to amputees and their families, only thanks to the generosity of funders like National Lottery Community Fund, Garfield Weston, BBC Children in Need plus many more and our community supporters.

Q: Will I be able to drive again?

A: In many cases, yes. You’ll need to inform the DVLA, and depending on your circumstances, you may need an assessment or vehicle adaptations. Q: How long does it take to get a prosthetic?

A: The timeframe can vary based on your healing progress and your limb centre’s process. It typically takes several weeks to a few months. We can support you in speaking with your prosthetist and managing expectations.

Q: Can I change limb centres?

A: Yes, it is possible to request a transfer to a different limb centre, though it requires approval through your GP and/or current limb centre. We can guide you on how to start that process and what to expect.

Q: Will I ever be able to get back to work?

A: Many amputees return to work successfully. It depends on your recovery, type of work, and any reasonable adjustments that can be made. Q: What do I do if my house isn’t wheelchair accessible?

A: There may be grants and support available through your local council or occupational therapy service to help with home adaptations. Q: Can my family get support too?

A: While we don’t provide medical devices, we can support you in navigating the healthcare system, accessing services, and connecting with trusted organisations.

Q: Is there someone I can talk to one-on-one?

Q: What if I don’t want to join events but still want support?

A: That’s perfectly okay. We’re here when you’re ready—there’s no pressure. We offer phone support, digital resources, and check-ins without needing to attend events.
