Over:

    • 1,300 amputees and families supported
    • 550 new amputees helped since 2022
    • Thousands of attendances across activities and sessions
    • Income has significantly increased with thrifty spending reviews we have been able to rebuild our much needed reserves to build solid foundations.
    • Included an update on April – October 2025

Impact data highlighted:

  • Increased independence, motivation, and quality of life
  • Reduced anxiety
  • Many beneficiaries met another amputee for the first time through Steel Bones
  1. Funding & Sustainability
  • BL gave Financial report and the necessity for reserves to keep building as the charity grows to ensure sustainability
  • Successful multi-year National Lottery funding secured
  • Funding now more diversified – Lottery approx. one-third of income
  • Focus on sustainable growth alongside service quality
  • AGM takes place in our first HQ which provides fantastic storage and office space enabling us to use and keep resources wisely
  • Accounts formally adopted, BL proposed, LJS seconded
  1. NHS & Sector Partnerships
  • Stronger clinical partnerships with hospitals and limb centres
  • Steel Bones represented on Integrated Care Boards
  • New NHS information packs and professional resources launched
  • Active collaboration with other amputee charities

 

  1. Youth Council Announcement
  • AGM formally informed of the inaugural Youth Council meeting
  • Scarlett presented:
    • Purpose of the Youth Council
    • Importance of youth voice
    • Growing number of young people engaging with Steel Bones
    • Collaborative approach to shaping how the Youth Council operates

Trustees welcomed the Youth Council and its role within the charity

  1. All Trustees stepped down and all were reappointed back on.
  2. All agreed to retain services of Solutions Accountancy following the tender and their great performance.
