A trio of Law firms, Irwin Mitchell, CFG Law and Tees Law, all with experience of working with amputees and passionate client care have united to support Steel Bones and its members. The Charity took the opportunity to launch their new Legal Partnerships scheme at the Annual Celebration Day, as part of their donation contributed towards the day along with several team members who got stuck in helping with parking, manning the welcome desk and keeping people hydrated. Each attendee to the event received a goody bag with some goodies inside including special treats from the Charity’s new Legal Partners.
Since Steel Bones’ inception, they have received a growing number of requests from amputees and their family members about where to go when they need legal support. To help provide the very best service for Steel Bone members the charity has set up a Legal Partnership to help provide free initial advice and guidance to members with the three firms mentioned.
A Legal Buddy role has also been set-up within the charity to help the team and families with signposting to help them consider their options. This role is held by one of the charity volunteers who used to work at the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Steel Bones has worked with the law firms involved over a number of years and has confidence that they will be able to support the needs of their members in the best possible way. In addition to supporting any legal queries the firms will also support Steel Bones with wider activities including: volunteering days; helping to create and send out member packs; sponsoring an annual Celebration Day; and provide talks on topics the member requests.
Colin Phelps, Chairman of Steel Bones, said “It is fantastic to know how much these outstanding law firms value the work we do. We have very much enjoyed working with them thus far and the team looks forward to taking the partnership to the next level.”
Natasha Fairs, Senior Associate, Irwin Mitchell: “Steel Bones is a fantastic organisation which provides valuable advice and support to its amputee members and their families. It’s been a pleasure to support the charity over recent years and we’re delighted to part of the Legal Partnership. We look forward to continuing our work with everyone involved.”
Tim Deeming, Partner of Tees Law said “We have seen the strength and depth of support which Steel Bones provides to so many amputees and their families and to be a continued part of that team is humbling. Together we can help make a difference to so many and we are proud to support them”
